Take a step back and do the math and look at the packing involved.
First start with packing, formal nights, non-formal nights, casual wear. Counting the suitcases yet?
Then there is airfare from your city to a port, add in tips that are mandatory. Throw in some overpriced shore excursions if one is not smart enough to research and book on their own and your cost is slowly escalating.
Next are the demographics of the clients. A cruise line that does not cater to the booze crowd will not be exactly inexpensive.
Once you are on the ship you can be rewarded with food trough buffets for lunch with crowds worse than hogs getting slopped. Same applies for breakfast.
You are able to dine in the dining room for the three meals a day but 9 times out of 10 you are being fed banquet food. Great food if you do not have a pallet that cares. May I also add you are on a time schedule for meals!
Lastly the stress of getting off the ship when it docks. Let’s all be herded like cattle to a common area to wait for a color to be called. A lot like the ear tags the bovines wear.
Once off the ship you wander a hall the size of a stadium to get your luggage and then fight over a porter to wheel it out.
Now for Aruba, how simple can it get. Pack bathing suits, shorts and nice shirts for the guys. Bathing suits and sun dresses for the girls. Dinner is casual even in upscale establishments. No long pants, no suits and of Tux's!
World class food that one has the ability to choose what, when and where to eat. No waiting in lines at a steam table.
The Arubans are friendly, there is plenty to do and even if you do not have activities planned you will not get screwed by some over priced tour operator!
