New Luxurious Bahia Principe Hotel to Open on Aruba in 2016

October 27th, 2014- The Palma de Mallorca-based company’s new hotel is expected to open its doors in the summer of 2016, and will comply with the chain’s highest standards of luxury and exclusivity under the Luxury Bahia Principe Don Pablo Collection brand.

The Luxury Bahia Principe Baby Beach Don Pablo Collection will have 950 rooms, the majority of which will be Junior Suites (908), and the rest Suites (42).

The facilities will include the Pueblo Príncipe leisure complex, a theatre, a casino, several speciality restaurants, a gym, a spa, sports courts, and more. The plans also include designing specialised spaces and services for specific segments such as weddings, groups, corporate incentive trips and families.

Introduction of Automated Passport Control kiosks at Aruba Airport

ORANJESTAD – Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) is proud to announce the purchase of Automated Passport Control (APC) kiosks for the U.S. pre-clearance facility at Aeropuerto Internacional Reina Beatrix. Provided by Vancouver Airport Authority, BorderXpress, these APC kiosks will dramatically improve the customs clearance process for U.S. bound passengers beginning in December 2014.

With the introduction of Automated Passport Control kiosks at Aruba Airport, the waiting times for US bound passenger can be reduced significantly compared to the typical CBP primary inspection process, lowering operating costs and improving the customs experience for US bound travelers. In Aruba, BorderXpress APC kiosks will be available to all U.S .passport holders and U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR), Canadian passport holders and all Visa Waiver travelers with Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) from 38 countries not requiring U.S. entry visas, including the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Matt Boland Joins Divi Resorts as Regional Executive Chef Aruba’s Top Chef Heads to Divi

September 25th, 2014- Matt Boland Joins Divi Resorts as Regional Executive Chef – Matt Boland, a veteran and culinary star of the Aruba hospitality industry, has joined Divi Resorts as regional executive chef. Boland is in charge of food and beverage operations for the company’s more than twenty restaurants at its properties in Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, St. Croix and St. Maarten. Boland is the first to hold this new position for Divi Resorts, and he is tasked with creating new menus, conceptualizing future restaurant ideas and unifying standards of culinary excellence. He also will be expanding “pureocean,” Divi’s proprietary restaurant brand, in key locations. He reports to Marco Galaverna, president and chief operating officer of Divi Resorts.
